[edit]

Is there an antonym "pointfull"?

No. Possible antonyms (depending on meaning) are beneficial, meaningful, pointed, profitable, sensible

Perhaps as a kind of protologism [1]. — Vildricianus 16:44, 11 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Senses

[edit]

Some dictionaries distinguish the senses (a) without meaning, senseless, and (b) without purpose, purposeless. Some use "ineffectual" instead of "purposeless". My understanding of the distinction between the two:

  • purposeless := no purpose can be identified
  • ineffectual := the purpose in view cannot be achieved by the chosen method
