see here (i deliberately used the less common plough spelling to turn up results for both, but i'd suggest we list this under pluff unless it can be shown that it's etymologically related to plow after all). Soap 23:31, 17 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

this site suggests it's indeed a variant of plow, because farmers used the mud to plow their fields, but i cant vouch for the linguistic accuracy of the site. Soap 23:33, 17 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
