Is "peak" correct? Should it be "beak"?

I read in a news article that it means "beak" and the Mafia money sense comes from the idea of "getting one's beak wet". Equinox ◑ 22:18, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

Well, it does mean "peak" (it's found in the names of mountains, e.g. Pizzo Coca), even if it also means "beak" (perhaps only in Sicilian, in the form you mention?). - -sche (discuss) 22:04, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

From Vulgar Latin *pincāre, a nasalised variant of *piccāre (“to pick, pierce”), from Frankish *pikkōn, from Proto-Germanic *pikōną *pukaną (“to pick, peck, prick, knock”), from Proto-Indo-European *bew- (“to make a dull sound”).
