Is it really true that this is uncountable? If it is, is it plural or singular? What do I say, if I only want one item of pirozhki? --Hekaheka (talk) 09:21, 18 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

It’s countable, but usually the form doesn’t change: a pirozhki, three pirozhki, some pirozhki. —Stephen (Talk) 09:26, 18 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
The singular pirozhok is not uncommon. The word is used in three ways, although they’re not always clearly distinct.
  1. As the name of a dish, uncountable
  2. As the plural of a dumpling bun
  3. As the singular of a dumpling buns

Thank you for your analysis, Michael, only they are not dumplings. --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 21:14, 18 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
