Pronunciation

The transcription seems wrong: "ə" is in a few places where "ɜː" should be, especially stressed. I've checked Collins/Oxford Learner's/Cambridge dictionaries. Улькиора (talk) 08:45, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

• /əː/ is preferred over /ɜː/ by many (most?) transcribers nowadays for the NURSE vowel in UK English. See for example International_Phonetic_Alphabet_chart_for_English_dialects under RP. That is certainly what is used by the OED and the British Library. Usage on Wiktionary is a bit inconsistent though. Ƿidsiþ 09:13, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
