Contradictory

[edit]

The English definition given here is self-contradictory: "Immediately adjoining an urban area; between the suburbs and the countryside." The suburbs are what are immediately adjoining an urban area. The "between the suburbs and the countryside" appears to be correct from what I see of the usage in other sources. Peri- doesn't mean 'immediately adjoining', but 'around, surrounding, near', so this definition should probably read "Around, surrounding, or near an urban area; between the suburbs and the countryside". — SMcCandlish [talk] [cont] ‹(-¿-)› 22:35, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
