Thoughtless

“Het demissionair kabinet speelt paniekvoetbal.^[1][2] Our definition is, “any thoughtless, panicked behaviour”. But in these uses, it does not refer (I think) to thoughtless behaviour, but rather to behaviour that is not informed by a long-term vision. Are these uses exceptional, or is the figurative use of the term more generally applied to criticize behaviour that is not thoughtless and panicked (“Experiencing or in a state of panic”) as this definition would have it? @Lingo Bingo Dingo, Mnemosientje, Morgengave, Rua.  --Lambiam 12:54, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
