Does this word need only apply to evolutionary studies of 'animal' physiology? Can it not also include the study of plant, fungal, or microbial physiology?

Generally it seems to be animal. Searching Google Books for "paleophysiology of" finds mainly dinosaurs, also some mammals and birds. I found one non-animal example, which referred to cyanobacteria. Equinox 14:28, 6 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
