Add topicThe quotation on this page is incorrect: The point at which a curve cuts the axis lies on that axis; the ordinate of every point on the axis of abscissas is 0 (it is possible that the abscissa of that point could be 2).
A simple translation of the definitions, quotations and figure s.v. "ordinate" on en:Wiktionary would work much better. (My Frenh is not good enough to try.)
