[edit]L&S (“opperior”, in Charlton T. Lewis and Charles Short (1879) A Latin Dictionary, Oxford: Clarendon Press) give both opperītus and oppertus (i.e., without the ī) for the perfect, but both Kennedy (section 161) and Allen and Greenough section 191 give only the second form for the perfect.
