Sorry, but I need your help, cos I'm a little bit confused. This page says gothic sarwa, old english searu belong to *serw-? (to guard) an extention of ser- (to guard, to protect)? But I always thought sarwa and searu belong to ser-4 (to bind or tie together) Pokorny: Indogermanisches etymologisches Wörterbuch, page 911. Where does this information comes from? Is this a renewal? Thanks and Regards.
