Presumably obsolete at least, but I can't find it at all in this form. (Beware scannos for "new coining" as noun phrase.) Equinox ◑ 00:18, 26 January 2019 (UTC)

cited - It was a challenge to find quotes that do not have the word at a line break, so that it is impossible to tell whether the author wrote "newcoin" or "new-coin", but I managed to find three. Unfortunately, two of the three are using "newcoined" much like an adjective, but there is an overwhelming number of quotes that use either "newcoin" or "new-coin" (at a linebreak) as a verb, so I think this is probably okay. I would, however, suggest we make this an alternative form to "new-coin", which is easier to cite in unambiguous texts. Kiwima (talk) 01:05, 26 January 2019 (UTC)

Older editions of Congreve’s The Way of the World have “new coin” written with a space, like here.  --Lambiam 12:31, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
