Rfv-sense: {{lb|en|archaic}} [[in need|In need]], [[lacking]]

Previously tagged, not listed here. (This is, imo, distinct from the first sense. e.g. Necessitous iodine, not acquired naturally in the region, must be supplemented in the diet.) - Amgine/ t·e 17:28, 26 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

I don't really see how it can be distinct. The "necessitous iodine" would be required/necessary, but not "in need": iodine does not need anything. Equinox 17:44, 26 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
Neither is it needy, destitute, or poor. It is, however, necessary, lacked, needed. - Amgine/ t·e 17:53, 26 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
Then the iodine would be a totally different third sense; it's unrelated to the two existing at necessitous. Equinox 18:06, 26 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
I'm okay with that. Neither existing sense is a complete -ous noun-to-adjective. But then that does not address this tagged sense. - Amgine/ t·e 18:49, 26 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

I have cited this. I removed the "in need", which seemed to me more pertaining to the first definition, and removed the archaic, as many of the quotes are contemporary. Kiwima (talk) 01:40, 18 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
