Add topicI’m creating this discussion for a non-existent English word because David Foster Wallace, in my copy of Infinite Jest, page 127, writes “Several times also Marathe called U.S.A. to Steeply ‘Your walled nation’ or ‘Your murated nation.’ As far as I can understand, it is not a real world outside of the world created by Wallace, specifically a transnational conglomeration of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It could be a purposeful corruption of a Québécois-French word, but that is too sophisticated an enquiry of research for an absolute amateur worder like myself. Help!
