-ozzy suffix

[edit]

@Fay Freak: in response to your question, I don't think the -ozzy ending has anything to do with hip hop. There are many UK/AU/NZ diminutive terms ending in ozzy/ozzie/ossy/ossie, such as mossie/mozzie (a mosquito) or cossie/cozzie (a swimming constume). So mozzy fits pretty neatly into this pattern. Also, a definition like "slang form of magazine" doesn't make any sense—just do (slang) A firearm magazine. Also, do you think you could find more quotations for this sense? @Ioaxxere: I referred to the second etymology man added, following our -izzy. You see, there is no etymology written or suffix mentioned. The first etymology is of course normal -y/-ie, while the second has an -o- before it lacking in the whole world.
Due to the eponymous (?!) highly productive rapper I struggle to remove the noise; no luck with the plural. In view of the verse stress it is however implausible that Yanko made it up instead of using a word already known to gangsters. Fay Freak (talk) 08:41, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Ioaxxere: Good god, if I search "want the mozzy", another one riding in a mozzy, I see it also means a Maserati. Genius professes to be down the time I am writing this and I go to sleep. Fay Freak (talk) 21:12, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
