Plural

[edit]

Has anyone ever actually used the plural form? It sounds more like a place name, eg.

"Arthur took a stroll in the Morning Woods. They were thick in places, and unpleasantly clammy. His feet caught in the foliage, tripping him, and he wished that he had never come. He found himself longing for a good shower." --60.36.179.50 00:43, 10 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

yeah, the sense of wood in both definitions is a mass noun, which we call uncountable. theoretically someone could say "i've been getitng morning woods all week" but even in that sentence i would still use the singular form. Soap 20:59, 14 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
