Validity of interjection status
[edit]Is 'moo' really an interjection? I mean, it may be used by cows as an interjection, but I doubt that qualifies it for inclusion in a dictionary as used by a non-linguistic animal. Oliverbeatson 22:31, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Cows just make a noise. "Moo" is the way we spell and speak it, e.g. in books. Certainly a word. Equinox ◑ 22:43, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- He's not disputing if it's a word, but rather if it can be classified as an interjection. Tooironic 09:24, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- In some cases it can be a noun or a verb, but in the case of "and the cow went ‘moo’," that is traditionally considered an interjection, just like uh, wow, or the sounds of other animals such as meow or cock-a-doodle-doo. —Stephen 11:47, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
