Rfv-sense. Again, subtle difference. Example of a passage that distinguishes the two: "The uniting of these crests causes an oval metafossette, rather than a metaflexus, to be a prominent feature of these teeth."[1].
I'm not sure exactly the difference between a fossette and a flexus is, to me they're both just tooth grooves... but I think there is one, however subtle. I'm not trying to be nitpicky; I just want our coverage of these terms to be the best it can be, and it's hard to find good definitions because all the papers assume you already know this stuff. 70.172.194.25 01:09, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
- See diagrams "Anatomical terminology used to describe rodent cheek teeth" here. Possibly helpful is this, diagrams and glossary. DCDuring (talk) 23:46, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- It's hard to see how we could tell that the words were being used in cites with the same meaning without getting our degree in dentistry or paleontology. DCDuring (talk) 23:48, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
I have cited the term with quotes that were the best I could find for shedding some light on the difference between a fossette and a flexus. Kiwima (talk) 22:29, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
