Can this alleged plural of man-in-the-middle purportedly meaning “adversaries that intercept, and often modify, communications” be attested? (There is some doubt that the hyphenated form man-in-the-middle even qualifies as a noun; see a couple of comments in the discussion at Wiktionary:Tea room/2018/September#final salary.)  --Lambiam 07:19, 7 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
