Thommym (talk) 08:15, 19 June 2012 (UTC) Not that my English is that good, but FLOP is not a noun, it's an acronym. FLOP should then be read Floating OPerations Per, which means nothing. It is FLOPS == Floating OPerations Per Second.

It is now used without the S, e.g. "a parallel computer using a thousand one megaflop microcomputers" (from Google Books). Equinox ◑ 08:26, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
