Magnetic materials are only known to exist as dipoles, and so the analogy with electrophoresis is not precise. Magnetic monopoles are hypothetical particles that would have a magnetic 'charge' corresponding to being either a north or south magnetic pole, and would behave in a magnetic field analogously to an electrically charged particle in an electric field.
