Czech lempl
[edit]By way of speculation by a native speaker: I see the following candidate characteristics of a person who is a lempl:
- Sloppy: doing careless work
- Lazy and work-avoiding, a distinct characteristic: someone can be eager to work but not eager to take care that the work results are good. The following quotation seems to be a rather good fit: "Že jsem lempl, že se neučím průběžně, kde je moje zodpovědnost, kde smysl pro povinnost, kde důkladnost"; this quotation matches my intuition of the word lempl real well.
- Unskilled: suggested by SSJC. Distinct characteristic; IMHO; sloppy and lazy are moral defects, as it were, whereas lack of skill not necessarily so. Does not match my intuition so well, but seems plausible.
- Stupid: suggested by SSJC. This does not match my intuition and the following quotation: "Ne, blbej ne, ale lempl!". I don't find quotations that match this, but someone else could have better luck.
