Talk:lecanorin

Note that this entry may be wrong. Pubchem describes lecanorin as "3-Hydroxy-5-methylphenyl 2,4-dihydroxy-6-methylbenzoate" which differs from lecanoric acid, in that lecanorin is missing the carboxylic acid group. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:34, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

Older books use them synonymously, e.g. in Google Books I found these two: 1888, "lecanorin, or as it is more suitably called, lecanoric acid"; 1903, "Schunck ... showed that his lecanorin (lecanoric acid), when boiled with alcohol, is very readily etherified".
