[edit]

The words listed in the synonym sections are possibly misleading. They have a descriptor and then use a term that already has a precise definition. This could lead to the phrase causing confusion in the reader. It is possibly a marketing use that attempts to exploit the confusion. Anti-leather terminology is not neutral and within the terms of the Wiki community. It could be argued that for clarity on animal rights leather should be taken to mean that it has origin in animals and that any other use is confusing to consumers. It would be interesting to see how the community feels.Plugsly (talk) 09:52, 20 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I removed all of the synonyms without entries, which don't seem to be the kind of things we include in synonyms sections these days (see WT:SOP). Chuck Entz (talk) 19:21, 20 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Sense 2: person who dresses in leather: female only?

[edit]

-ette suffix on a person almost always means female. Are there male leatherettes? Our entry does not specify female. Equinox 18:07, 11 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
