labelled vs labeled. I believe one is CW spelling and one is US spelling. But I'm not positive which is which or I'd label them. JillianE 16:41, 8 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

The CW spellings double the consonant to maintain /ɛ/, what in America we call a short E. In US English the pronunciation is different and so the rule is analogous to the past of listen. That's my understanding anyway.
I'm not sure how to lable the entry though. Should each and every definition be tagged {{CW}}?DAVilla 19:31, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
