/aːi̯/ spelling in lái/aíches

@Mellohi! What’s the rationale for the spelling change laíches → láiches? The attested form with a fada? The Wiktionary:About Old Irish page says Since Old Irish has no standardized spelling, for convenience we generally use the spelling of the Dictionary of the Irish Language (online at http://www.dil.ie/) as the primary spelling (unless there are good reasons to use some other spelling as the primary one), and list other attested spellings as alternative spellings and DIL lists it under laíches. In the discussion page Wiktionary talk:About Old Irish it’s also been suggested to normalize the /aːi̯/ diphthong to áe before broad consonants and aí before slender ones (and that’s also the normalized spelling used by Stifter too). // Silmeth ^@talk 11:21, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

And in láiches itself you put laíchis as the acc.sg., so part of the declension table there gives ái, and the other part uses aí. I guess it’s not intentional? (but I may be missing something with my not-that-great understanding of OIr.?) // Silmeth ^@talk 11:36, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
