昆布茶 kombucha?

[edit]

What about the Japanese kelp tea (昆布茶 kombucha)? That's what I think of when I hear this word, not a fermented tea drink. The origins of the word (as applied to fermented tea) seem a little obscure, but I'm guessing it's ended up here because it's now a trendy health drink. ☸ Moilleadóir 14:35, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I read somewhere that the fermented drink is actually named after its creator, whose name was Kombu. Is there any veracity in this ? Leasnam (talk) 02:59, 27 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Clinical tone?

[edit]

While "which has nothing to do with fermented tea" is hilarious and I personally want it to stay, I feel like it clashes with the tone of Wiktionary as a whole, which will lead to its inevitable removal. And if it's gonna get removed, it may as well be now. I don't feel comfortable doing it myself, but, yeah, fyi. --Mszegedy (talk) 23:26, 29 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
