Tagalog "Philippine slow loris"

[edit]

@Mlgc1998 You placed the definition "Philippine slow loris" in the Tagalog entry, is this from a source or just from the Cebuano entry above? Mar vin kaiser (talk) 16:15, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Mar vin kaiser can't fully remember, but I remember focusing more on the Japanese loanword and relying on Diksiyonaryo.ph , must've copied the animal from the Cebuano entry if I had read about some animal that Diksiyonaryo.ph was describing as well. It says insect tho now. is it really some bird? Mlgc1998 (talk) 10:37, 26 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Mlgc1998: Definition in Diksiyonaryo shows "insekto", but I kind of feel like they're just using older dictionaries as a base. The only dictionary that shows the word "kokang" is "cocang" in Vocabulario de la lengua tagala, defined as abejaruco, which is a bee-eater, a type of bird. So it's either Diksiyonaryo has other sources which has a clearer definition, or they misread the definition in Vocabulario. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 05:29, 27 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
