Although this is today perceived as "Croatian word", this is also an archaic Serbian word. 1920 Serbian dictionary lists knjižnica as a translation of "library" [1], and e.g. in 1928 there was something called Šabačka narodna knjižnica i čitaonica that was founded in the middle of Serbia, later becoming Šabačka biblioteka [2]. I won't add it as ==Serbian== right now, but if someone could dig citations from historical Serbian sources (Serbian WikiSource is a poor resource :/), it would be awesome. --Ivan Štambuk 01:38, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Croatian dictionaries list "dveri" as an archaism for "vrata" (door), while Russian dictionaries list "дверь" as a standard form for 'door', and "ворота" means "gates", a meaning akin to Croatian "dveri", although not as archaic. dveri is a native Slavice word, inherited from Proto-Slavic and still used in the literary language. 'knjižnica is a 20th century (or late 19th century) coinage. The difference is very big --Ivan Štambuk 09:39, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
