"classic long-grass tactic"
[edit]This recent usage in a national newspaper suggests that the term "long grass" might be used outside phrases like "kick into...":
- 2021, Boris Johnson has utterly failed to back up his anti-woke rhetoric with action (in The Sunday Telegraph, 9 December)
- Take the ultimate experience of BLM. In response to the outcry, Ministers commissioned a report into “Race and ethnic disparities” in the UK, a classic long-grass tactic.

- Equinox, there is a use in Wikipedia:FRIN, too, which also seems to use a slightly different sense (pointless waste as well as postponement). HLHJ (talk) 21:22, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
