The stated etymology From Hindi केंद्र which comes from Sanskrit केन्द्र from Ancient Greek κέντρονseems to be incorrect in two particulars.
- It is probably derived separately from both Hindi and Sanskrit, though of course the Hindi form is derived from Sanskrit.
- The Sanskrit word is not derived from ancient Greek, it is a cognate. (82.69.29.100)
- On the second point. Whether the English word derives from Sanskrit is dubious, but if you can express the "both" in a compact way that would be good. Can you also check out केन्द्र Sanskrit etymology, as that is where I got the original. https://www.sanskrit-lexicon.uni-koeln.de/scans/MWScan/2014/web/webtc/servepdf.php?page=0309 also claims from ancient Greek, but it is an old source.
