This is an aberration of the phrase "Keeping cards close to the vest" no doubt perpetuated by aurally challenged younger folk who mistook the word VEST for CHEST. When one is not telling all one is "playing it close to the vest". "Playing it close to the chest" dilutes the meaning and impact of the origin and long-time usage. Bob P
