@Mar vin kaise: Perhaps I should be more careful this time. Looks like the source is here: https://www.trussel2.com/ACD/acd-s_w.htm#9475. The reason it's a Malay borrowing, as suggested by the website, is that PMP *w disappears word-initially in Malayic *ka-wanan > *ka-anan > *kanan, while it is retained in Tagalog (eg. *walu "eight" > walo).
