My father in law who was born in 1916 and lived all his life in the north London area, used the word "jollop" quite often. He used the word when taking medicine, and also when applying his "special" liquid fertiliser to plants.
My father, with similar origins (1909, Kings Cross) and connections with the East Midlands used the word the same way, and also included chemical reagents and similar. It would appear to be the technical version of "wallop", anything produced by a process that involved boiling.
