When was this deleted?? I have it on my watchlist, but never saw any indication there that it was deleted. Can someone link me to any relevant discussion?
- Since noone responded to the above, I have recreated the entry, with generous cites. Please put this through the standard RFV/RFD process if you think it shouldn't be here, rather than just deleting it offhand. Thanks!!! :-D Language Lover 18:09, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

- For defense of the word, see above as well. :) Language Lover 21:17, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Keep. I've actually heard this word used in conversation completely outside any gaming context (i.e. watch out for those hot peppers, they're instadeath!). Seriously. bd2412 T 22:03, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Some non-video game cites:
- 2002, Baloo Ursidae (probably a pseudonym), Re: Furry Take-Over[1], alt.lifestyle.furry Usenet
- Not sure where Snuh gets the idea from. I feel guns are OK, the problem is this country (US) insists on letting people aren't trusted enough to drive to own something that in the wrong hands is point-and-click instadeath.
- 2006, Anonymous, Re: Another Series of Possessions in the Last 2 Minutes[2], alt.sports.basketball.nba.chicago-bulls Usenet
- Songaila is just brutal. Brutal. Now we know why Petrie didn't think enough of him to make him a must-sign, huh? And why he got several power forwards back in the Webber trade. He's just instadeath on defense. Watching Songaila do anything that involves thinking is like watching a mime commit suicide.
- 2006, Espen Schjønberg, Re: AOQ Review 6-19 for 6x20: "Villains"[3], alt.tv.buffy-v-slayer Usenet
- A slayer surviving this long wouldn't die at all, so, she would have healed anyway. (New Paragraph) It's instadeath or no death. (Yeah, I know. Me Stubborn.)
Still though, I think the video game users make up enough of a majority of the hits I've found, that the (gamer slang) tag is still justified. :) Language Lover 23:59, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Again, the tag is fine, per se, but please always remember to enter it in a machine-readable format, such as {{context|gamer slang}}. --Connel MacKenzie 00:05, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
