Comparability?

I would question that the term infinite is incomparable. In fact, one of the pinnacles of XIX century mathematics is to have shown that infinites of different cardinality (say, numerosity) indeed exist. Therefore, the sense in which one may legitimately use the form `more infinite' is not exclusively figurative, but may reflect a precise and coherent state of affairs.

On the contrary, each infinite is incomparable as an adjective. The fact that there are different infinities, and that some of these can be compared, doesn't change the type of adjective. Dbfirs 13:58, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Grammar

My addition of a note (obsolete) to the Grammar sense was incorrectly reverted by someone who said this was actually already stated. It wasn't - the "from 19th c." tag simply means that the sense is that old, not that it's no longer in use.
