@Tooironic: Where is the evidence there exist two senses? As far as I see, it always is during the ample natural illumination of the day. How should one shed the visibility if visibility is caused by light? If something happens in the spotlight of a nightly concert or discotheque and it is still called “in broad daylight” then it is a separate sense, but I do not believe in such usage. I am unable to differentiate between “the two senses” even in my native language and never used to think that there would be two. DWDS puts the supposed second sense even as the primary sense but yet all occurrences presuppose literal daylight. Fay Freak (talk) 19:07, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
