In order to elaborate on "speakers no longer understand the construction, but the sense is still obvious" : Speakers are likely to interpret "Munde" as a feminine byform of "Mund" and "aller" as an attribute, as in in aller Frühe, where this is indeed the case. The sense then becomes "in every mouth", which ultimately means the same thing.
