Past participle or compund
[edit]Look. It's not a compound word. We didn't mix "ihop" and "sydd" up. All verbs with adverbs in them become one word in past participle, the same with "slå ner -> nerslagen (litterly "beat down -> downbeaten), "äta upp" -> "uppäten" (eat up -> upeaten) etc. I am Swedish, I know Swedish, please trust me on this oneJonteemil (talk) 02:09, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- Why didn't you explain this in your revert, then? In any case, the template you are using is for definition lines, not etymologies. —CodeCat 02:12, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- But the very template I use are on all past participles pages I can find. fiskad, äten, sydd, etc. If you have a better template, put that in but don't add the compound template please.Jonteemil (talk) 07:34, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- The norm on Wiktionary is to put the "past participle of" in the definition, and to not write a separate definition. The definition of a past participle is predictable from the meaning of the main verb, after all. —CodeCat 18:32, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
