A few queries about this entry.
- Is "ice cream" really derived from "iced cream" (as if "iced cream" predates it)?
- Is "iced cream" just a variant form of "ice cream"? If so, the should be just a cross-reference here rather than a reproduced definition.

Everything I see on the web indicates that "iced cream" is just a variant of "ice cream." This page says the term started as "ice cream" in the American colonies, then became "iced cream", and was then shortened back to "ice cream." I don't know how authoritative that is, though. I hope that the correct term was coined first, but either way "iced cream" is the only descriptively accurate term. "Ice Cream" would imply cream somehow derived from ice, whereas "iced cream" describes cream that has been made like ice through freezing. Spawn777 17:51, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
