Latin: third-declension hydrodendro and oxydendro

From looking at Berzelius's De electricitatis galvanicæ apparatu, these look like second-declension neuter ablative singular forms, not third declension neuter nominative singular forms (which pretty much never end in -ō). E.g. "ab oxydendro longe", "ab oxydendro in aquam", "ab hydrodendro". I'm not sure whether the nominative singular would be in -um or -on (neither form seems to appear in that source). RFV failed. Converted both to second-declension neuter nouns in -on, marking -um as an alternative.--Urszag (talk) 10:57, 14 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
