Probably the definition of the adjective hostile should be split in different definitions, every one with its own example(s).

[edit]What does cot-caught merger have to do with 'hostile'? O_o It merges /ɔː/ to /ɒ/, but 'hostile' orignially had an /ɒ/, so whaat
