Where does this expression come from? (to raise one's head to look out for danger?) Why is it "heads-up"? Wyang (talk) 03:36, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- I suspect you’re right about the etymology. As for why it’s ‘heads’ not ‘head’, that’s probably because warnings are typically issued to multiple people rather than just one person. Overlordnat1 (talk) 08:31, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
