• hülfen (cf. helfen, Hülfe - (er) hülft/hülfet. Adelung: "Auf ähnliche Art sind [...] hülfen von Hülfe [...] gebildet.")
  • hülft as obsolete form of hilft does exist, but could belong to helfen (and not *hülfen). hülfst could be both, present indicative as well as past conjunctive, depending on the context.

• @Jberkel: Right, in the local pronunciation in Berlin and surroundings /ʏ/ and /ɪ/ was often interchangeable, so every word (I dare say) where that stem has ⟨i⟩ now has also been written ⟨ü⟩, Gehülfe for now Gehilfe, schlipfrig for now schlüpfrig and what not. You should expect such deviations from the current spellings for writings until the 1920s. Fay Freak (talk) 12:06, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
