Not only used in science fiction. There is a real vehicle with this name. Also, it looks like HDSF gives two senses and they may have been incorrectly merged here. 70.172.194.25 19:07, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

- I think the sci-fi sense likely exists, given that it’s in HDSF, but they group quotations for both senses together and the provided context is insufficient to tell which are using it with this meaning (Wyndham one seems likely if we literally interpret ‘float’, but the page image isn’t linked).
