It is ([1]). I’m guessing that you are asking that because it sounds funny, but the Latin ascendant is real, too. The reason this word doesn’t have a v in it is because it was borrowed directly from Latin, whereas governor is from Vulgar Latin. --Æ&Œ (talk) 04:35, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
