to be out on a limb
[edit]I have seen this phrase being used as "to be out on a limb" by Martin J.S. Rudwick, who says on page 11 of his book "Earth's Deep History" (2016): "The creationists, unlike Ussher, are out on a limb, and a precarious one at that". Kiwi Hanys 05:02, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- We also have out on a limb, which covers this sense. See also Wiktionary:Requests for moves, mergers and splits § go out on a limb. — excarnateSojourner (ta·co) 02:11, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
