A10 machine gun before money printer?
[edit]The page [1]https://slang.net/meaning/go_brrr says without sources that "The phrase originated within memes [of] the A-10 Warthog military aircraft "solving" problems by firing its powerful machine guns at them. (When firing, the Warthog's machine guns produce a "brrrt" sound.)" There could be other sources, and it seems likely that the phrase is new enough the first use would soon have been captured in the Internet Archive, [2]http://archive.org, but I don't know how to do a search that way. 2600:1700:3EC0:AEE0:6438:CB1B:6BB0:200B 17:16, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
- As a veteran I can tell you "go brrr" was definitely in use before I seperated in 2011. Often referring to CIWS, sometimes to the SAW, and very infrequently used in a generic the "gets s*** done efficient-like" reference to such, but I wasn't around the brown shoe navy.
- I have no sources, but a lot of our jargon is subculturally isolated unless some screenwriter picks up flavor for a flick. 66.90.194.217 02:56, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
