Talk:glin

glin (n) English (maybe American) according to an old sea captain of my acquaintance, is a nautical term for the glow in the night sky over large cities which can be seen from many miles at sea. Is anyone else familiar with this usage? — This unsigned comment was added by 67.239.161.27 (talk).
- Chambers doesn't have glin, but there is glim: a gleam or momentary flash. Where is your friend from? Perhaps it's dialectal. Equinox ◑ 21:50, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
