Discrimination on the basis of gender

I believe a sense roughly like this does exist, and can find at least one citation and several discussions of it, including one that says it is older than the "belief that gender is rigid/binary" sense. However, it's hard to find unambiguous citations of it, because a lot of citations that mention "genderism" + other discriminations (of the same form as the cite which was in the entry) turn out to be using the "belief that gender is rigid/binary" sense when one keeps reading, and many of the rest could plausibly be using either sense. (For example, a 2005 article in Sex Roles proposes a "Genderism and Transphobia Scale", which one of the aforementioned discussions I read cited as an example of the "discrimination on the basis of gender" sense, but it could just as plausibly by the other sense.) (Also, I added "belief that one gender is superior" and a [2012] cite to go with that, but maybe these should be split as different senses, like the analogous senses on racism? I'm not sure; it'd be even harder to find enough unambiguous cites for two senses.) - -sche (discuss) 07:32, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
